About Molly Frechette
BA, MSW, LCSW
Molly has been a mental health professional for over 14 years. She acquired her Bachelor's of Psychology from Grand Canyon University and her Master's of Social Work from Arizona State University. She grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada and has been a proud Oregonian since 2013. Molly has practiced in a variety of settings including community mental health, Oregon health authority, residential treatment homes, private practice, various nonprofits, as well as being a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Her scope of practice has included case management and treatment planning, crisis response, support group facilitation, psychoeducation, as well as individual, family, and couples therapy. Outside of therapy settings, Molly has a passion for training and teaching around mental health and Oregon's access to care. When she is not working, she is in the water, with her pets, watching hockey, foraging, rock hounding, birdwatching, or at karaoke.
Mission Statement
My mission is to offer accessible, affirming counseling that helps people reconnect with themselves, their bodies, and the relationships and communities that sustain them. I recognize that healing is shaped by our histories, cultures, environments, and access to support. Through compassionate relationships, shared decision-making, and attention to the whole person, I support greater self-trust, belonging, and meaningful change.
Values
-
Relationship and belonging: I recognize our interdependence. I support relationships that offer safety, mutual care, and room to be ourselves, while respecting each person’s boundaries and chosen connections.
-
Respect and self-determination: Each person brings knowledge of their own life. I honor consent, cultural identity, lived experience, and the right to define what healing means and how to pursue it.
-
Reciprocity and responsibility: I commit to giving back to the people and communities whose knowledge supports my work through attribution, fair compensation, and support for Indigenous-led priorities.
-
Balance and sustainable care: I honor the connections among body, emotions, thought, meaning, and daily circumstances. Rest, limits, creativity, and joy deserve space alongside responsibility and growth.
-
Collective care and access: I work to reduce barriers to counseling and recognize the effects of poverty, discrimination, colonization, and exclusion. My work includes helping people identify the support and resources they deserve.
-
Continuing education and cultural humility: I prioritize Indigenous-led continuing education and clinical consultation to strengthen my ability to serve Indigenous clients and communities. I commit to learning about each community’s distinct histories, cultures, strengths, and contemporary experiences, and translating that learning into respectful, responsive care. I remain open to correction and accountable for how I apply what I learn.
-
Accountability and repair: I take responsibility for my impact, welcome feedback, acknowledge mistakes, and work toward repair. Trust grows through consistent actions and honest relationships.
-
Relationship with land and future generations: I recognize that human wellbeing depends on the wellbeing of land, water, and other living beings. I consider how my choices affect the communities and generations that follow.
